Secondary residences often have quite different criteria than primary ones. Some of this naturally is due to locale and environment. A mountain home in snow country has very different criteria than a beachfront home in a windy, saltwater environment. Likewise, an urban home will differ from a rural one in its needs.

Owners also often have very different goals for their second home. For some, it is to create a refuge from the world, for others a place for informal socializing. For yet others, the home may play an important role as a remote office for undisturbed working, or as a place for quiet contemplation. Relaxation though is often the order of the day, and informality frequently prevails.

Secondary homes serve many different needs. Whatever the reasons, they tend to become distinct unto themselves. We always look forward to designing them.
